Following the 3.00 pm screening of Little Alien on Saturday, October 22nd at the Castro Theatre, Professor Deniz Göktürk of the Department of German at the University of California, Berkeley, will be in conversation with:

How do comedy and documentary approach transnational migration? Can institutional multiculturalism capture the complex ties to several homelands? How do filmmakers position themselves in a changing media landscape? The discussion will address such questions of mobility across borders, multilingual memories of migration, and their place in national archives.
This event is co-presented by the Multicultural Germany Project at the University of California, Berkeley.
