Call for Papers on “Cinema and Migration” for the NeMLA 2014 conference (April 3-6, Harrisburg , PA)
This panel aims to explore cinema across borders and in comparative perspective. In an age of global modernity, viewing the migrant experience from the perspective of a single national culture is restrictive. Submissions that engage with themes of exile, displacement, immigrants, emigrants, flows of migration, or people who do not fit within legitimate borders and boundaries are welcome. All theoretical, methodological, and cultural approaches to the ‘border’ experience are welcome. 150-300 word abstract to maria.catrickes@yale.edu by Sep. 30
